Ed Priola is running for the Alamance County Board of Commissioners to be a strong conservative voice for taxpayers. As a future Commissioner, his top priorities for Alamance County will be to:
1. Cut Property Taxes
Ed previously served as the Field Director for the National Taxpayers Union, traveling the nation fighting to cut taxes, government waste, and bloated bureaucracies. He will continue that fight in Alamance County, where many families are burdened by runaway inflation and soaring property taxes.
2. Support Law Enforcement
Without safe communities, little else matters. Ed has made supporting law enforcement and first responders a top priority. In recognition, Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson has endorsed Ed for County Commissioner.
3. Make Education World-Class
Every child, regardless of zip code or family background, deserves a world-class education. Ed has been a university professor for 15 years. He served as a substitute teacher in the Alamance Burlington School System (ABSS) during 2022-2023, so he understands where the needs are most pressing. Ed will work to address the lack of leadership and transparency in ABSS, which is key to giving every Alamance County child a world-class education.
4. Grow the Local Economy
Alamance County needs more well-paid jobs that offer meaningful work. Ed will fight for policies that reduce burdensome regulations, encourage small business growth, and support local agriculture. As a future Commissioner, Ed will seek to balance new development with quality of life.
5. Encourage Public Engagement
Public engagement, transparency, and open communication are essential for building trust and coordinating with other local governments, state agencies, and community organizations. In his campaign for Commissioner, Ed reached out to thousands of voters—by mail, on the phone, or in person. He will continue to do so as an elected official. He will work for the people, and listening to their voices will not just be a concern; it will be a top priority.
